Do I need to make a reservation for the class or is it okay to drop in?
If you are in the area and want to drop by, please feel free. However, we have 20 bikes in the studio and they may fill up quickly, so the best way to secure your spot is to sign up online via this website or the MindBody app and reserve your bike.
How far in advance can I schedule classes online?
You can schedule classes up to 1 week (7 days) in advance via our online software, which you can access through our website. Please note all advanced reservations and purchase of packages are non-refundable.
What happens if I reserved a spot online and I cannot make it to class?
Please note our updated cancellation policy: Clients have at least 12 hours to cancel their booking. A late cancellation (within the 12-hour window) or a no-show results in the following penalties:
o $30/30 clients and monthly unlimited clients: $7 fee charged to their account per occurrence
o Class pack (includes drop-in, 5-pack, 10-pack, and 20-pack) clients: loss of class
When should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class to get your bike properly set up. If you are new to spin please arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time to have someone help you with your bike set up. Please be aware that bikes will be released to waitlisted riders 5 minutes after class begins. If you are running late, you may call the studio and your bike will be held. The doors to the studio will be locked 15 minutes after class begins.
What happens if I do not have access to the internet and want to reserve a bike?
If you do not have internet but wish to reserve your spot, please give us a call at the studio (401-455-2091) and someone will assist you over the telephone with payment via credit card as well as with reserving your bike. Please note this is in rare instances and we encourage all of our customers to utilize our online system if they can.
Can I pay with cash?
You are of course welcome to pay with cash. However, you are unable to reserve a bike without payment. Therefore, you must purchase classes in advance if you would like to be guaranteed a bike.
How do I reserve a bike at Devine City Cycle?
1. Click on the SCHEDULE tab.
2. Look for classes and select the desired date and time you wish to attend.
3. Click “sign up“ and proceed with the sign in process.
When signing up for class(es) we HIGHLY recommend you create an account. This will expedite the process for you in the future.
Do the 10 and 20 packs expire?
The class packs expire one year from the date of purchase.
What are the age weight height requirements to ride a bike at Devine City Cycle?
You must be 14 or older and at least 4’10″. Our bikes have a maximum user weight of 300 lbs.
I’ve never taken a SPINNING® or indoor cycling class. What can I expect?
You have to start somewhere! The Devine City Cycle Team is trained to teach every fitness level. From elite cyclists to first time riders, DCC is the place for you. We'll show you how to set up your bike, practice different positions, and become accustomed to the cadence of your ride at your pace. After a few minutes with our staff and a couple of rides, you’ll be ready to cycle with confidence!
Do I have to be in great shape to participate in an indoor cycling class?
All ages, abilities, and fitness levels can enjoy the benefits of indoor cycling. You control the intensity and resistance, but your instructor will strive to bring out your best in every ride. The atmosphere and instruction style in DCC’s studio are designed to eliminate competition, intimidation, and judgment. The only person you have to be better than is the one you were before you walked into our studio. The only competitor in the room will be yourself. You ride for YOU…it’s personal.
How can I get comfortable sitting on the saddle?
If you’re new to cycling, it may take a few classes to acclimate your body to the saddle. Padded cycling shorts, liners or get seat covers make the ride more comfy. Sliding toward the back of the saddle also helps keeping the pressure off the tip of the saddle. After a few rides, most everyone gets comfortable.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
Shoes with a very stiff sole enable powerful pedal strokes. Cycling shoes will provide more stability and promote efficiency on the bike. However, feel free to ride with athletic shoes and make sure your laces are securely tied. Sandals or “5-finger” shoes are not allowed. Our pedals are equipped with SPD cleats, and cycling shops can fit you in the right pair of shoes.
Will indoor cycling make my legs bulk up?
Definitely not! Some of the leanest legs on earth belong to cyclists! Whether climbing hills or pounding out flats, indoor cycling is an excellent way to build strength, burn fat, and fire off endorphins. With the correct pedal stroke, speed and resistance, you’ll increase the definition in your legs and kick-start your metabolism.
